Abstract | :
Using items embedded in the first edition of the Behavior Assessment System for Children (BASC), a recent line of research has consistently replicated a behavioral screener for the assessment of executive functions, termed the BASC-EF. This screener has demonstrated strong evidence of reliability and validity in its evaluation of 4 posited executive-related factors (i.e., problem solving and attentional, behavioral, and emotional control); however, researchers and clinicians often use more recent editions of the BASC in both science and practice. The current study extracted executive-related items from the BASC-2, aiming to (a) derive an updated BASC-2-EF screener and (b) evaluate the screener for invariance across age and gender.
